Cathedra is a site specific photographic installation commissioned by the San Jose Museum of Art. The installation is on view in the museum's first floor sculpture court, filling the windows that divide the outside space from the main lobby of the museum. Cathedra is shown in conjunction with the exhibition: "Surroundings: Responses to the American Landscape, Selections from the Permanent Collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art."

Cathedra fills the seventy two pane window leading to the sculpture court from the main lobby, as well as the large windows in the stairway between the first and second floors. The image is a nearly life-size view from within a redwood forest. The photographic image is printed on a translucent medium, allowing the daylight that normally passes through the windows to illuminate the image from the rear, essentially creating an architectural scale lightbox. The work is installed directly onto each window pane, filling them edge to edge.
